Issues
I share the concerns on issues that face residents of Roswell. At the top of the list are prioritizing transportation and traffic improvements, facilitating a viable and appropriate business and redevelopment climate, and addressing the factors that have led to an increase in gang related activity.
Traffic - The difficulty in getting around and through Roswell at peak traffic times is a source of frustration to everybody. There is now funding for many necessary improvements. Prioritizing and responding to the greatest need requires citizen input. Please make your voices heard by letting council know your wishes. Visit the City of Roswell website to review the Transportation Master Plan (TMP) and attend the public meetings on the subject. Business and Redevelopment - In times of economic uncertainty, we must work harder to lessen the burden on persons trying to start or maintain their business. We must streamline and facilitate the business start-up procedures, with adherence to the comprehensive plan, reviewing the plan's appropriateness in changing times, and making certain our zoning matches residents' vision for a better Roswell. A safer community - We must not allow criminal elements and gang activity to gain a foothold in Roswell. A multi-faceted approach combining top notch police investigation and protection, collaboration with our neighboring cities, upgrades to our blighted areas, and partnerships with the educational, residential, business, and faith communities will help keep our youth challenged, constrained, and directed away from hopelessness and dangerous activities.
